It is one of Sir Terry Pratchetts most popular Discworld novels, an adventure story filled with romance and revengeThe film tells the story of arch-swindler Moist Von Lipwig and the beautiful, vengeful Adora Belle Dearheart. A life long travelling con-artist, Lipwigs crimes finally catch up with him in the town of Ankh-Morpork. The drama was filmed on location in Budapest, Hungary, which provided a beautiful, atmospheric backdrop to Ankh-Morphork, the epic fantasy world created by Pratchett.Digital Apes team, delivered 240 shots to the show, which was a pleasure to work on, requiring us to create the imaginary world, where the story takes place.Alongside straightforward VFX work, such as set extension, wire removal and clean up work, there is a selection of more challenging sequences. The first of these is a CG journey through a peculiar telex-type machine called the Clack. We created the concept art for this and also built the whole magical mechanism using Houdini.The Going Postal story revolves around the rivalry between the traditional postal system and the Clack system which conveys messages by light between the Clack towers. To realise the narrative we had to build several CG towers using both wooden and stone structures.The final sequence deals with the lives of the envelopes that live in the abandoned Post Office. Digital Apes created and animated the movement of tens of thousands of envelopes, all interacting with one another, as they flood through the building to grab the main character: Lipwig.

The work included complex tasks of 3D set extension, 3D crowd multiplication, layer integration, digital make-up and composite works.

Trailer - Heroes of Might & Magic VI. | dir: Balázs Lóth 2011. The sixth edition of Heroes of Might and Magic video game will be released in the Autumn of 2011 by Ubisoft. The production of the intro trailer of the game was Digital Apes' first project of the kind and we are proud of the achievement. With the valuable support of two vendors, 3Mages and Puppetworks who delivered the majority of the concept art and the primary animation Digital Apes' team created this fine piece of work using Solid Angel's Arnold. It's been and still is a serious and exciting development of our pipeline creating easy to use automations to be able to run such shows as efficiently as possible.
